I heart Jason Bentley

I was first introduced to KCRW by Erika (who I will always be grateful to for saving me from the daily evil machinations of dog-poop-picker-upper-turned-assistant Michelle***) during my brief stint as an (uncredited) post-production assistant at Team Todd. I spent the next three years with my radio perma-tuned to 89.9 FM and, after I left L.A., burned more of my employers' bandwidth than they should probably know about listening via the internet.

My favorite show has always been Metropolis — described as “the hypnotic pulse of modern city life” — hosted by Jason Bentley. Through the show, he's introduced me to some of my favorite artists: Sia, M83, Jacques Lucont, Sigur Ros, Gus Gus, Ulrich Schnauss, Goldfrapp, Annie, etc. He was just promoted to musical director of KCRW, so he's given up hosting Metropolis to take over their flagship show Morning Becomes Eclectic. His last show was just amazing. I've recreated it (as closely as possible) on my iPod. Here it is:

  1. Belfast - Orbital
  2. Little Fluffy Clouds - Orb
  3. We Own the Sky - M83
  4. Give Thanks and Praise - Cotton Belly
  5. Polyesterday - Gus Gus
  6. Water From a Vine Leaf - William Orbit
  7. Coming Home to the Sun - David Holmes
  8. Only Love Can Break Your Heart (MK Remix) - St. Etienne
  9. Samba Magic - Basement Jaxx
  10. Greatest Hit - Annie
  11. Tonight - Boom Generation
  12. Papua New Guinea - Future Sound of London
  13. Friendly Pressure - Jhelisa
  14. Always - Bent
  15. Lazy - X Press 2 (feat. David Byrne)
  16. Born Slippy - Underworld
  17. Always - Lisa Shaw
  18. Musique - Daft Punk
  19. Superstylin - Groove Armada
  20. Imagination - Motorcycle
  21. In A State/God Moving Over the Face of the Water - Moby vs. Unkle
  22. Inner City Life - Goldie

Is there some way I can make this a downloadable mix? Like through iTunes or something? Anyone tech savvy enough to know?

*** Michelle and I were the finalists for two positions at Team Todd - a post-production assistant and a higher ranked assistant to one of the producers. I had graduated from NYU Film School and completed an internship in the office of the President of Jersey Films. She had gotten a job cleaning the dog kennels at Dreamworks right out of high school and worked her way up to being Steven Spielberg's babysitter. In true Hollywood fashion, she got the higher ranked job and did everything in her power to make my life hell. Also in true Hollywood fashion, she has since abandoned her lesbianism, changed her name to a color and become the producing partner of a B-list starlet.
